I Use AI Every Day. But It Never Gets the Final Say.
Updated: Sep 28

Let's address the elephant in the room:
I use AI.
In fact, I've fully adopted AI into my workflow because it makes me more efficient, helps generate ideas, and speeds up parts of the content creation process.
But here's what many people misunderstand.
AI creates a first draft.
The final draft is still human.
Every blog, social media post, website page, article, or piece of content goes through multiple rounds of editing, refining, and rewriting before it ever reaches a client or audience.
Why? Because content that sounds generic doesn't build brands.Content that sounds like you does.
I learned this lesson firsthand when I was building my own website.
After I finished the first version, a trusted friend read it and immediately said, "That's not you. It's so Vanilla! There is no personality. Ouch.
But they were right.
The content was technically correct. It was polished. It checked all the boxes.
But it didn't sound like Sue.
I went back and did the work of defining my own brand voice. It wasn't easy. After multiple conversations with my tribe, and a lot of reflection, feedback, and refinement, we landed on a voice that felt authentic: witty, clever, conversational, funny, and yes... unmistakably British.
Those characteristics now serve as guardrails for everything I create.
AI helps me get started.
My brand voice helps me finish.
If you want to do this for your own business, here's how to define your brand voice in five steps.
The same is true for my clients.
Before we create content, we spend time understanding how they speak, how they serve their customers, and what makes them different. We define the language, personality, and messaging that reflects who they are.
Only then can AI become a useful tool.
Without that foundation, AI tends to make brands sound like everyone else.
With it, AI becomes an amplifier of what already makes your brand unique.
Because the goal isn't to create more content.
The goal is to create content that sounds like your brand every single time.
If you need help with your brand voice and messaging, lets talk!
